SAFIRE Falcon 20 enters the museum

On Monday, November 14, SAFIRE's Falcon 20 retired from service in last February made a discreet but remarkable entry onto the tarmac of the Aéroscopia museum; it is parked between two prestigious neighbours, the last Concorde to have flown and the prototype of the A400M, before being joined by the latest Transall from the French Air and Space Force. After flying with SAFIRE between 2006 and 2022, a new career is beginning for this aircraft which will continue to serve science; indeed, according to the will of CNRS which has decided to present it to the public in this way, it will now serve as a vector for the dissemination of scientific culture to the greatest number of people. With its distant ancestor, the Meteo-France Research Merlin 4, the CNRS Falcon20 reinforces the unique "airborne research" center of the Toulouse aviation museum.
